Free Apple Summer Camp for Kids

I am on the fence about posting this freebie, but it appeals to the art educator in me. Apple is offering free "camps" for kids at their retail stores. Here is what their website says:

"A fun, free workshop where kids become filmmakers. At Apple Camp, kids ages 8-12 will learn the ins and outs of iMovie and how to make a film in about the time it takes to watch one. From storyboarding to shooting footage to editing, kids will create their own film from start to finish. The workshop, held at the Apple Retail Store, spans three days and leads up to an Apple Camp Film Festival where campers debut their masterpieces. Check out more details below. Space is limited and workshops fill up quickly, so sign up now for a real creative adventure."

It sounds really great! I am on the fence because in my mind any camp that takes place in a retail store is really an opportunity for them to market the latest and greatest "must haves" to kids. And we have too much of that as it is!

So that said, I don't have kiddos in this age range so I don't need to decide right now!

It could be a great opportunity, I will let you make up your own minds!

I would love to hear from someone who's kids have been to one.
